How can I see the Beam Room?

We love visitors! Come see us in person and visit the space at 9 N. Front Street. We are located on the third floor of Front Street Brewery.

What kind of events can the Beam Room accommodate?

The Beam Room can accommodate all kinds of events! Rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions, birthday parties, holiday parties, baby showers, brunches, corporate events and luncheons are just some of the events that we host. We host over 200 events yearly. We’ve coordinated just about every event you can imagine. Call us today for customized options.

Does The Beam Room host LGBTA-friendly events?

Absolutely! Our entire staff prides ourselves on being inclusive and inviting of all types of events. Please don’t hesitate to call us to book your event.

Who will be helping me coordinate my event in the Beam Room?

Courtney Motz is our on and off site Event Coordinator. Courtney has been in the Service Industry Front Street Brewery and The Beam Room for over twelve years. Courtney is very easy to work with over the phone, via email or in-person. Sales Manager Ellie Craig and Event Coordinator Chris Andrews are also available to help you with any questions you may have.

How many people does your space hold?

The Beam Room can hold 100 guests for a seated event, or 150 guests for a cocktail event.

Is there wheelchair access?

Elevator Access is provided. The elevator leads directly to our third floor and can also be used by vendors with heavy or fragile equipment, or for cakes, flowers and decor.

How far in advance should I reserve the room?

We recommend you book your event as quickly as possible. The sooner you book, the less you have to worry about someone else taking the date you want. We are already booking well into next year, so don’t wait!

How do I reserve my date?

To reserve your date, you will need to put down a non-refundable deposit and a signed contract. For events occurring Sunday through Thursday, there is a $300 deposit. Events occurring on a Friday or Saturday have a $500 deposit. Deposits are non refundable, but be aware they are not a fee. The amount of your deposit will go toward your final event bill as part of the overall payment.

Are you insured?

Yes we are fully bonded and insured.

What is included when I book the space?

After you have booked the Beam Room for your event, the room fee includes tables, chairs, white china, silverware, white linen napkins, and standard glassware. We also provide linens for the buffet tables and cocktail tables. White linen tablecloths for our round banquet tables are available for rent at $8 each. You have access to our audio/visual system and commercial free Pandora account as well.

What fees does the Beam Room charge?

The Beam Room charges a deposit and a room fee as well as NC sales tax and a 20% service fee. If you want to have a wedding ceremony in the Beam Room with a “room flip”, there is an additional $250 fee. This fee gives you an extra hour in The Beam Room and allows us time to flip the room from a ceremony setup to a reception. Lastly, there is a $75 bartender fee per bartender for the duration of your event.

Why do I have to pay a service fee?

The service fee is 20% of your total bill and includes set up, clean up, and gratuity for your servers and bartenders.

How many hours do I get the Beam Room for my event?

Each event has a 4 hour maximum time limit in the Beam Room. Longer events are possible with prior approval and additional fees.

Will there be more than one event on the date I choose?

There may be another event on the date you choose; however, it will not conflict with your event whatsoever. We space the events far enough apart so there is no overlap time and we have plenty of time to set up for your event.

What are the minimum food and beverage purchase requirements?

For a Sunday through Thursday event there is a $500 minimum food and beverage purchase requirement. Fridays are a $1250 minimum, and for Saturdays there is a $1750 minimum food and beverage purchase requirement.

Do you have vegetarian or gluten free options?

YES! We always want to go above and beyond for our guests so if you or someone in your group is a vegetarian or has dietary restrictions – please let your event coordinator know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.

Can I use outside vendors?

We offer in house catering for food and beverages but after that it’s up to you! We work closely with a lot of different vendors in the area, so please let your coordinator know if you need some recommendations.
Can we decorate The Beam Room?
Decorating is allowed with prior notice and is the responsibility of the catering client. Confetti, glitter, and birdseed are not allowed. Candles are allowed as long as they are placed in glass votives. The client is held responsible for any damage done to the room and all decorations must be removed by the end of the event.

Is there a cake cutting fee?

Nope! If you or a vendor is bringing a cake to your event, we will cut it and serve it for you at no additional charge. Cakes can be dropped off to the Beam Room at Front Street Brewery the day of your event. Neither the Beam Room nor Front Street Brewery can be held responsible for cakes dropped off sooner than the day of the event.

When do I need to tell The Beam Room my final guest count?

Your event coordinator at the Beam Room needs to know your final guest count no later than two weeks before your event. They will also need to know if there are any children or guests with special needs.
When do I need to give The Beam Room my final food and drink menu?
Your event coordinator at The Beam Room will also need to finalize your food and drink menu no later than two weeks ahead of time. This gives our staff time to order and prepare everything we need for your event.

What lodging is nearby?

There are many lodging options in the downtown area. We recommend The Hilton Riverside, the Courtyard Marriott, Front Street Inn, The Wilmingtonian, Li’l Blu, and the Coastline Best Western.

Do you provide parking?

We do not have parking reserved for our guests; however, there is a parking deck directly across the street from us as well as metered street parking, and free parking on parts of 3rd street. In addition to those options, there are two other parking decks available and they are less than three blocks away from the Beam Room. The parking decks are free for the first hour and then $1 every hour after that. The daily maximum is $8.

Will there be outside interferences with our event?

We are located in downtown Wilmington above Front Street Brewery and it is safe to say there is always something going on. The Beam Room is on our private third floor and has its own kitchen and bathroom facilities. While your event may take place during the Azalea Festival, River Fest, Downtown Sundown, Fourth Friday Gallery Night, or just a busy time in the restaurant – we can guarantee that The Beam Room is reserved for the date and time you specified on your contract and will not be interrupted.
